Robert “Bob” H. Gardner passed away on January 12, 2023, along with his wife, Deanna Corbin-Gardner. He was born August 22, 1952 to Betty Davis Gardner and the late Robert H. Gardner Sr.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gardner and nephew, Christopher (Tessa) Corbin.
Robert, also known by all who knew him as Bob, was loved by many. He was the father of three girls, a devoted worker, and a jack of all trades. In his 70 years, he learned and mastered many trades and had a variety of hobbies. In his early days, he was a Western model and even the face of Black Stallion Whiskey. Bob enjoyed showing and riding horses with his daughters and won many awards doing so. He loved motorcycles and the time he spent with his wife and friends doing so. Bob was a hard worker. Even at his ripe age, he had desires to build a business that he could pass on to his family. He was very well-known and respected in the construction world. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and former colleagues. Although his earthly body will be greatly missed, the memories will last forever.
Survived by his mother, Betty Gardner; daughters, Alyson (Jeff) Biles, Brittany Gardner (Randy Cauley) and Carrie (Jonathan) Lucas; stepdaughter, Jessica (Greg) Hicks; stepson Adam Eckermann; grandchildren, Cylee, Emilee, Harlee, Cal Ryan, Jon Cooper, Weston, Trace, Anna Margaret, Alex, Connor and a slew of fur grandbabies; brothers, Ronald (Pam) Gardner and Raymond Garnder; sister, Rebecca Gardner; nephews, Jason (Brittany) Gardner and Samuel Gardner; nieces, Wendy Gardner, Rachel (Clayton) Pugh and Regina Gardner as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Cemetery with Dr. John Ed Mathison officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Visitation will be Friday evening, January 27, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Church At The Brook in Millbrook. In honor of Bob, the family requests that attendees dress casually for the visitation and service.
Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Jeff Biles, Randy Cauley and Jonathan Lucas; brothers, Ronald Gardner and Raymond Gardner and nephew Jason Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephew, Samuel Gardner and cousin, Johnny Gardner
