Robert "Cecil" Sims

Robert Cecil Sims passed away on December 27, 2024, at his home in Murfreesboro, TN at the age of 85.

He was born in the Pletcher Community in Chilton County, Alabama to the late Jesse Lee Sims and the late Lelia Lockhart Sims on September 29, 1939. 

He retired from the Alabama Gas Company. 

He is survived by his wife Barbara Sims; children, Vickie Manning and Craig (Shonna) Sims; granddaughters, Megan Manning (Michael Latham), Katelyn Sims and Olivia Sims; great-grandson, Walker Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lee Sims; mother, Lelia Lockhart Sims; siblings, John Thomas Sims, Aubrey Lee Sims, Arra B Poole, Roberta Sherrill, Mollie Bell Donovan; and grandson Terry Lynn “TJ” Green, Jr..

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Randy deBrabant officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
