Robert Skelton passed away April 21, 2020 at the age of 48. He was born October 8, 1971.
Robert has been a first responder for over 25 years; 17 of the past years as a paramedic and the preceding as an EMT at Haynes Ambulance, MedCare and Care Ambulance. He never met a stranger, loved being a medic and lived to serve and help people. He truly had a servant’s heart. Telling jokes and making everyone laugh only shadowed his dedication to put others before himself. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Matthew Skelton and step-father, Charles Clayton Ross, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Skelton; daughters, Hayley (Dylan) Hayes and Madison Skelton; granddaughter, Ensley Rae Hayes; mother, Janice Ross; father, Charlie (Barbara) Skelton; sister, Angela Kay (P.J.) Pongerayter; niece, Alyssa Curry; nephew, D.J. Pongerayter and a large work family at Care Ambulance in Selma.
A drive-in funeral service will be held for him at Bloch Park on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Aaron Ellis officiating. Everyone must remain in the vehicles for the entirety of the service due to COVID restrictions. The Selma Police Department will be on hand to assist with parking and traffic control. When you arrive the service will be broadcast live on Kix Country 101.5.
