Robert “Bobby” Leonard Small was born October 29, 1951 in Selma, AL. He passed away on September 26, 2020. He was 68 years old. He was the son of William Dennis Small, Jr. and Hazel Briggs Small. They were longtime residents of Furman, AL. His family became interested in studying the Bible in the 1960s and soon became active members of the Camden congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Bobby was baptized on August 2, 1968 and has faithfully served for over 50 years. He has been known and respected by both those inside and outside the congregation. He has served on many disaster relief projects and construction projects of Jehovah’s Witnesses through the years, most recently being the remodel of the local Kingdom Hall here in Camden. He has made many friends who have loved and respected his kind and honest disposition.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Dennis Small, Jr. and Hazel Briggs Small; one child, his son, John Chandler (Chan), and one niece.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda Griffith Small, and two grandchildren, J.C. Small and Leanna Small, all of Camden, AL; brothers, William Dennis Small, III (Mary Ruth) of Gulf Breeze, FL and Joe Briggs Small (Pearl) of Prattville, AL; sisters, Rixine S. Jackson (Carl) of Camden, AL, Sharron S. Garzaro of Fairhope, AL, and Merriann S. Diaz (Darrell) of Autaugaville, AL; 8 nieces and 4 nephews; all of whom were very much loved by him. He was very loved by all and will be extremely missed.
