Robert Otis Weeden (December 3, 1927 - March 4, 2018) Robert Otis Weeden, age 90, passed away on March 4, 2018. He was a loving father, grandfather, wonderful husband and friend. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Mildred Rinehart Weeden; his parents, Walter and Leola (Edwards) Weeden; daughter, Judy Weeden Wilson; son, Robert Otis Weeden, Jr.; and three brothers, Walter Edward Weeden, Jr., David Allen Weedon and Jack Weeden. Surviving are his children, Sue & David Moore and Jan & David Hulsey, sister, Doris Jackson, sister-in law, Joyce Weeden and Johnnie Lou Weedon, grandchildren, Dawn (Martin) Jacome, Krystal Sanders, Jessica (Billy) Barrett, Nikki Foster, Matthew Moore, Jacob Hulsey, Madison Hulsey, great-grandchildren, Dustin (Hope) Minor, Keela (Austin) Haigler, Chelsea Sanders, Lindsea Sanders, Elizabeth Barrett, Adarious Minor, Marleigh Foster, Paxton Foster, Vicente Jacome, great-great grandchildren, Shyla Sanders, Easton Haigler. Also a special sister-in-law Elizabeth Kilgore that he always worried about when she missed a visit. We thank-you and love you! Special thanks to Diversicare (Park Place) staff, SouthernCare Hospice and Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Otis was proud to have worked 43 years for the Southern Railway. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and in later years attended with family at Valley Grande Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, deer and turkey hunting, fishing, and having a garden. Services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00pm at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with memories shard by David Hulsey and Randy deBrabant. Interment will be at Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm. Pallbearers will be Matthew Moore, Jacob Hulsey, Dustin Minor, Dennis Hulsey, Billy Barrett and Adarious Minor. Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Valley Grande Baptist Church Youth or Children's Dept., 48 County Road 16, Valley Grande, AL 36701.
