Roland Griffin, Sr.

Roland Vernon Griffin, Sr., age 73, of Selma, AL, passed away May 11, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel C. and Willie G. Griffin and three brothers, Charles Leon Griffin, Sammie Gene Griffin and Willie Daniel Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Moore Griffin; son, Roland V. (Nancy) Griffin, Jr.; daughters, Margaret E. (Lawrence) Lormand, Julie D. (Richard) Krunosky and Mary Ellen (Brett) McMurray; sisters, Gladys Vernell Peavy and Audrey Luverne Riley; eleven grandchildren, Roland Vernon Griffin, III, Emily Nicole Griffin, Matthew Robert Dillard, Heather Nicole Peoples, Todd Sterlin Trolinger, Jr., Nicholas Eldridge Lormand, Mary Elizabeth Lormand, Lance Landon Krunosky, Michael Alan Krunosky, Ashley Marie Roberts and Alyssa Danielle McMurray and one great-grandchild, Braxton Reid Peoples. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Squires officiating. Interment will be in Orrville Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. Grandsons and close family friends will serve as pallbearers.
