Roland Hamilton, age 79, of Selma, Alabama moved into his heavenly home on January 3, 2022 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Fayette, Alabama on April 28, 1942 to the late Jerry and Mildred Hamilton. He became a barber in the early 1960s and was still cutting hair in Selma. He was a member of Sister Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his life partner of 24 years, Linda; children, Randy (Debbie) Hamilton, Ted (Jennifer) Hamilton, Dale (Geri) Hamilton, Heidi (George) McClintock, Holli (Chris) Closson and Ed Harrison; grandchildren, Randal (Cheney) Hamilton, Farrin Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton, Austin Bailey, Cale Chrislenson, Anne Richmond McClintock, Chandler Closson, Abbey Closson, Duffy Harrison, Haley Hamilton and Pamela Ballard; great-grandchildren, Ellyana Pattie, Chambers Gause, Callen Hamilton and Madelynn Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.
Graveside services will be Thursday, January 6, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Sister Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the church.
Pallbearers will be Randal Hamilton, Winston Bearden, Drew Blackmon, Ted Hamilton, Dale Hamilton and Randal Hamilton. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Hancock.
