Ronald Bell “Ronnie” Holladay passed away on August 26, 2021 at the age of 74 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 1, 1947 to the late Fred and Winnie Holladay. He was a 1969 Auburn University Graduate with a Bachelor of Science of Agriculture Business and Economics.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred (Judy) Holladay; sister, Jean Holladay Wofford and brother-in-law, Charlie Wofford.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzi L. Holladay; children, Sandra H. (Clark) Caldwell, Lane (Heather) Holladay and Richard B. (Whitney) Holladay and grandchildren, Laney Holladay, Aubrey Holladay, Sarah Grace Holladay, Maggie Holladay, Hope Holladay, Anne Holladay and Edward Holladay Caldwell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Benton Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Carter, Dr. Sammy Gilbreath and Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin in the church at 9:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed online from the funeral home and church’s Facebook pages.
Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, John Searcy, Dave Lyon, Fred Holladay, Tommy Lane, Pierce Lane, LD Fitzpatrick and Terry Sharpless. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Wilson, Lonnie Burness, Donnie Cooper, Dan Rhyne, Bobby DeBois, Mike Jackson, Tom Stacey, Duke Logan, William Lyon, Brad Lane, John Traylor and Pete Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to University of Mobile: ALCAP “Alabama Citizens Action Program”, Benton Baptist Church, Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Sav-A-Life.
