A longtime business man of Selma, Roy Stanley Jones, Sr., passed away May 3, 2012, leaving a loving wife of 69 years, Adella Huffman Jones of Montgomery, two surviving children, daughter, Dea Rogers (Billy) of Powder Springs, Ga. And son, Alan (Harriette) of Selma, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Jones in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William S. Jones of Montgomery and his son, Roy S. Jones, Jr. (Yvonne) of Demopolis.
He was a member and survivor of 370th Bombardment Squadron in World War II. He kept his love of flying for his entire life.
Mr. Jones was one of four businessmen who founded Bush Hog Manufacturing in 1952. He was president of Selma Parts Service for many years and President of Bush Hog Realty Co. since 1967, he also owned and operated Jones Oil Company and Mr. Roy's Convenience Stores.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday May 6, 2012 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Reverend Alan Yarbrough officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Crosspoint Christian Church.
He loved his family, Crosspoint Christian Church and most of all he loved Jesus. He will be sorely missed.
His sitters and and Cahaba Hospice were a Great Blessing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Teen Challenge or Crosspoint Christian Church building fund.
