Russell Williams

Russell "Pops" Williams age 93 of Selma passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Baptist Hospital South in Montgomery.

He was born in Billingsley, Alabama on March 21, 1928 to the late W.A. Williams and Antonite Kynard Williams.

He retired from Coca Cola after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Fretwell Williams; daughters, Sherry Lynn Williams and Anita Williams Jurgelsky (Stan); grandchildren, Heather Michelle Tucker Bender (Lee) and Russell Aaron Tucker; great-grandson, Copeland Reese Bender; sisters, Alma Shirley and Jean Wells (O.L.); sisters-in-law, Ruby Williams and Betty Williams; and numerous nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Antonite William; and brothers, Douglas Williams, Johnny Williams, and W.A. Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny McClendon and Rev. Tom Stacey officiating.

Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.

Pallbearers will be Stan Jurgelsky, Lee Bender, Russell Tucker, Copeland Bender, Gary Shirley, and Bill Fretwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Fairview Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.

The family has requested that masks please be worn for the service.
