Ruth W. Dumas Beal, age 90, of Florahome, died Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Putnam Community Medical Center. She was an Alabama native and had lived in Florahome since 1995, coming from Lake Helen, Florida. She was a member of the Oak Avenue Baptist Church in Florahome and had worked as a housemother with the Methodist Children���s Home for 10 years in Selma, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jeremiah Patrick Dumas, Sr., and Gerald Beal, a son, Jeremiah Patrick Dumas, Jr., daughter, Barbara Beal and by 2 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Johnson and Ashley Cameron. She is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Jean Lewis & husband, Jerry of Florahome and Jo Ann Englett & husband, Billy of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; son, Robert ���Bob��� Beal of North Ridgeville, Ohio; 2 sisters, Juanita Gay of Silsbee, Texas and Charlie Raitz of North Las Vegas, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 27, 2010 at Orville Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: St. Jude Children���s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee, 38148-0142.
