Ruth Juanita Hayes, age 89, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away February 13, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Hayes.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald M. (Ruth) Roberts and Thomas S. (Lyndia) Roberts; daughter, Leslie H. (Randall, Jr.) Decker; grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Cranor Roberts, Chris Harris, Ann McLean, Matthew Roberts, Jonathan Roberts, Sarah Smith and Adam Smith and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Smith officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cranor Roberts, Jonathan Roberts, Adam Smith, Leith Wilson, Sarah Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Steve Turner, Jr. and Robert Thomas. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Wilson.
Mrs. Hayes was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Selma Chapter 184 of Eastern Star. She was a hairdresser and sold Avon for many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 2150 Broad Street, Selma, AL 36701.
