Sandra Dagostin

April 2, 1946 — March 24, 2017

DAGOSTIN, Sandra Lanell Wilson, a long-time resident of Selma, Dallas County, Alabama, died on March 24, 2017 after a brief illness.  Sandra was born March 27, 1946 to Jessie Marvin Wilson and Birdie Mae Payton Wilson, in Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama and was the 4th  child of four children.  She was predeceased by her parents, her mother-in-law, Ruby Frances Dean Dagostin, and father-in-law, Edward J. Dagostin, Jr.; a sister, Frances Lucille Wilson Clark,  a sister, Vera Mae Wilson Carlton, her nephew John Mark Polk, her beautiful and beloved Samoyed “Frosty” and her precious cat, Mr. Whiskers.

Most of Sandra’s adult life was spent in Selma and Dallas County, Alabama being employed in the financial industry.  She enjoyed gardening of all sorts, growing flowers, shrubs, and citrus trees at her home.  In addition to her love of antiques, Sandra also loved cooking wonderful meals (lots of Italian dishes) and traveling through the Western United States (especially Montana and Wyoming) with her beloved husband “Butch”.

Sandra and Butch met on a blind date and began the beautiful journey of a 46 year marriage.  In the two months following Butch’s death she has missed him terribly and is once again reunited with the love of her life.

Sandra leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving cat Missy, her cherished sister, Laura Parkton Sundy (Harold), a brother-in-law, Thomas K. (Snap) Dagostin (Becky); two sisters-in-love, Diane D. Enzor and Betty Ruth D. Cutcliff; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her most special and precious friend Frances S. Hughes.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all of the Prayer Warriors, family and friends on Facebook for their tender care, prayers, love and support during the time of her last illness.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the City of Selma Animal Shelter at 206 Medical Center Parkway, Selma, Alabama 36701 or the Selma Area Food Bank at 497 Oak Street, Selma, Alabama  36701, or to a favorite charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Lawrence Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon with a private burial at a later date.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Elijah Parker, Walt Lightsey, Charlie Sims, III, Barry Parker and Dr. Sam Saliba
