Saradel "Sally" Chantz Thompson

Saradel "Sally" Chantz Thompson, age 85 of Selma, formerly of Birmingham, Al. died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Vaughn Regional.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and at her church, she was a member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Mithell Chantz and Iris Harris Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon G. Thompson; daughters, Linda Brown Nickles (Dock) of Selma, Libby Brown of Manchester, TN., and Fran Brown Moon (Jerry) of Northport, AL; son, Mike Brown of Montgomery, Al; stepdaughter, Joyce (Dean) Carroll of Waterford, MI; grandchildren, Scott Little (Robin), Jeffrey Nickles (Alyson), Jason Nickles (Shelly), Hannah Craze, SSgt. David Craze (Katrina) and Allyson Moon Welch (Ben) of Northport, Al; brother, Phillip Chantz of Oreland, Pa; 12 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren.



Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. James Duke officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing. Family will receive friends at funeral home on Tuesday February 12, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family will accept flowers or donations to be made to Dallas Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
