Scott Shelton Castleberry, 53, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014. He was born January 16, 1961 in Birmingham AL to Eva Simmons and Nile E. Castleberry.
He was raised in Selma, AL, was a member of Parkman Avenue Church of Christ, and graduated from Selma High School. Upon graduation, Scott joined the United States Air Force and served in Montgomery, AL and Texas. Following his discharge, he later joined the Mississippi National Guard with whom he deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Nile E. Castleberry.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Castleberry, daughter Sherri Castleberry, mother Eva Simmons Castleberry, brothers Keith E. (Patricia) Castleberry and Hugh A. Castleberry, and nieces Kaylie Castleberry Doss (Joshua) and Kerrianne Courtney Castleberry.
Graveside services and inurnment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Debora Bishop officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
