Sidney Stapleton

Sidney ���Cowboy��� Stapleton, age 78, of Selma, died Sunday August 29, 2010 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters and grandson, Damian Day. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Sue Davis Stapleton; sons, Sidney D. Stapleton Jr. (Delonna) and Jeffery Lamar Stapleton, both of Dowagiac, Michigan; daughters, Janie Cook (Curtis) and Helen Kendrick (Kevin) both of Selma; brother, Wallace Stapleton of Alaska; sister, Jane White (Roy) of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Thomas Cook (Tonya), Judy Day (Derrick), Danielle Chisenall (Leroy), Brandy Blackmon (Justin), Wesley Seals, Dusty Burge, Shayla Schemberger (Drew) and Jaron Stapleton and 16 great-grandchildren.
Chapel services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday September 3, 2010 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral home with Reverend John Ackerman officiating and burial following at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday September 2, 2010 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Cook, Thomas Cook, Dusty Burge, Kevin Kendrick, Sidney D. Stapleton, Jr. and Jeffery L. Stapleton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobo Phillips, Charles Watford and Derrick Day.
