Sue Ballard Long age 90 of Point Clear, AL and formerly of Selma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Alabama on January 23, 1931, to the late Wren Ballard and the late Edna Cochran Ballard.
Sue was well known for her love and taste for interior decorating. She is remembered by her family as loving, selfless, kindhearted, gracious, faithful, and beautiful inside and out. Her love was endless for her family. She will be missed by many and remembered by all.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Wren Burns (Mandy), Susan Amanda Sparks (Stephen), Mary Susan Burns, Christopher Smith (Sadie), and Peyton Smith; great-grandchildren, Clevland Burns, Mary Helen Callaway, Thomas Burns, Jack Callaway, Lala Burns, Claudia Sparks, Will Sparks, and Mera Smith.
She is preceded in death by her two children, Michael Earl Smith and Susan Wren Burns; parents, Wren and Edna Ballard; grandparents, George Walter Cochran and Persia Amanda Harrison Cochran; special men of her life, Melvin C. Heinz , William "Mack" Hodgson, Dr. Edward Maumenee, and Charles "Pap" Long; brother, Jack Ballard; and and a very special aunt, Helen Cochran.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 12:00pm at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with Minster Bryant Evans officiating.
There will be no visitation, everyone please meet at the cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Word, Bob Tapeka, George Owens, Burl Hill, and George Ballard, Melvin C. Heinz, Jr., Jerry Brown, and Garlin Farris.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Eastern Shore Church of Christ at 1209 Daphne Ave., Daphne, AL 36526.
