Thomas Rivers, Jr.

Thomas Eldridge Rivers, age 73, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away May 10, 2009. Surviving are his wife, Gladys J. Rivers; son, Todd Rivers and his wife Wendi; daughter, Gina Rivers; sister, Betty Allen; grandchildren, Courtney Dial, Shannon Travis, Ivy Small, Alexandra Rivers and Isaiah Rivers; great grandchildren, Kiara Dial and Jordan Headley. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jason Reasor officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Mr. Rivers was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy after serving for 23 years. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He also served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Meadowview Christian Church, 1512 Old Orrville Road, Selma, AL 36701
