Thomas Anderson Johnson, age 87, of Maplesville passed away June 27, 2010. Services will be held at 10:00 on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Sardis Church in Heighberger with burial following in the Sardis Church Cemetery. Rev.Tony Reynolds will be officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home will be directing. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 5:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was a minister for more than 40 years in parts of Alabama and Mississippi. He was married to Lessie Johnson, of Maplesville for 60 years. They had three sons; Ronney Johnson (Sue) of Douglas, Ga., Glendon Johnson (Rose) of Northport, and Donald Wayne Johnson of Maplesville, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Susie Johnson; two brothers; Pickin Johnson and Andrew Johnson. He is survived by his sisters; Cluster Gill of Uniontown and Gladys Moore of Brent.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren; Johnathan G. Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Michael Johnson, Adam Q. Johnson, Keith L. Johnson, and Preston Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Clark Johnson.
