Tommie Hollie Sullivan

Tommie Hollie Sullivan, a beloved figure in the hearts of many, passed away on August 22, 2024 at the age of 74. Born on May 31, 1950,  to the late Armond and Lois Sullivan, Tommie was a dedicated son, loving husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Tommie dedicated 23 years of his life to General Motors, where he exemplified the qualities of hard work and commitment. His endeavors within the company not only his technical skills but also his passionate approach to life. However, Tommie was much more than just his professional accomplishments; he was a loving and caring individual, known for his friendly demeanor and the ability to connect with anyone he met. He possessed a rare gift of making people feel welcomed and cherished.

As a U.S. Army Veteran who valiantly served in the 82nd Airborne Division, Tommie brought the same dedication and loyalty to his country as he did to his family. His service to his nation was a point of pride for him, and the values instilled in him during that time resonated throughout his entire life.

Tommie’s true legacy lives on with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. He poured his love into each of them, creating lasting memories and traditions that will be treasured by generations to come. His passion for woodworking was not just a hobby; it was a way for him to express his love. He crafted several rocking horses and toy boxes, each piece imbued with care and attention, demonstrating the depth of his affection for his grandchildren. His handiwork adorned every corner of their home, from the sturdy floors to the ceiling and even the exterior log cabin siding, revealing a man who found joy in creating a warm and loving environment.

Tommie also had a zest for life that extended to his love of old cars, particularly his treasured 1939 Ford Model A. He enjoyed spending countless hours tinkering and bringing beauty back into these machines, much like he did with everything he touched—transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Sullivan and sister, Linda Becton.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sullivan; children, Tommy (Lisa) Sullivan, Michael (Candice) Sullivan, Kimberly (Daniel) Herren and Ricky (Lori) Wiggins; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny (Kathy) Sullivan and sister, Susan (Nicky) Smelley.
