Tony Butts

Tony Butts, age 78, passed away, Saturday, September 3, 2016. "We lost one of the best Millers Ferry fisherman to ever wet a hook today. Tony Butts knew every big fish spot from dam to dam. He was a true competitor and gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family." BDL He was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Gass: brother, Timothy Butts and grandson, Tyler Phillips. Tony is survived by his children, Lisa (John) Skladan, Lowell (Liz) Butts, Ava (Mike) Rowan, Iva (Dick) Boozer and Martha Manderson; spouse, Jo Ann Butts; brother, Richard (Jan) Butts; niece Bridget Butts; grandchildren, Amy Rowan, J. Rowan, Wayne Hart, Nelson Bullard, Haley (Trey) Mason, Megan Manderson, Lindsey Manderson, Ivy (Jason) Roberts, Forrest Butts, Hunter Butts, Joanna Blevins, Chris Griffin and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ed Wilson and Johnny Ray Harris officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Grandsons, J. Rowan, Wayne Hart, Nelson Bullard, Forrest Butts, Hunter Butts and Chris Griffin will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tom Aultman, Butch Adams, Ronnie Ratliff, Earl Richey, David Fitts, Ricky Knight and Cotton Eddings.
