Vada Davis

Vada Estelle Murphee Davis went home on August 25, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born January 17, 1944 to the late Madge Estelle Hallmark Murphee.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Minerva Tarr.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe Wallace Davis; sons, David (Tawnya) Davis and Chris (Angela) Davis; grandson, Brogan Davis (Jennifer Turner) ; great-granddaughters, Phebe Davis and Brylee Davis and nieces, Keitha and Heather

Her career as a nurse spanned for over 40 years in Norfolk Virginia, Selma Alabama, and Coos Bay Oregon, where she served others as needed from recovery room to head of nursing.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Ocmulgee Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial of her cremains will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m., at the church.

Her pallbearer will be David Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be David Davis, Terry Shields and Marshall Pugh and the church family at Ocmulgee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations by made to the Ocmulgee Baptist Church Youth Group; 86 Ocmulgee Church Road, Selma, Alabama 36701.
