Vaubie Maude Harrell Smitherman, age 80, of Selma, died Sunday April 17, 2011. Mrs. Vaubie was a piano teacher for several years and touched many students��� lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal H. and Ethel Harrell and her son, Don Caver. She is survived by her son, Neal Caver; daughter, Karen Jones; daughter-in-law, Barbara Caver; brother, William Harrell; 8 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Reverends Calvin Strickland and George Jones officiating and burial following in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday April 19, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Harrell, Clarence Beadlescomb, Melvin Burge, Johnny Hughes, Don Jones and Jim Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Godwin.
