Velvey Ross

Velvey Irene Conaway Ross, age 94, died on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Park Place Health Care Facility in Selma, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Wiley and Sadie Conaway, her husband, Earnest Milner Ross, one son, David Michael Ross, sisters, Nellie C.Martin, Roxie Lee Jennings and Jeanette C. (Calvin) Haygood and one brother, Wiley Junior Conaway. Mrs. Ross is survived by brothers, Chester Conaway of Calhoun GA, Clarence (Arnette) Conaway of Spring Garden, AL, Allen (Edna) Conaway of McDonough, GA and Daniel (Edna) Conaway of Rossville, GA, and sisters, Rosie Monn C.Thompson of Merrilville,IN, and Myrtle Ruth C.(Emmitt) Crider of Cave Springs, GA. Mrs. Velvey Ross was a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Selma, where she served as church librarian for many years. She was retired from Miller Lumber Company. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11:00 with Dr. Michael Brooks officiating and Lawrence Brown- Sevice Funeral Home directing. Graveside service will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery , Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL. at 3:00.
