Verga Walker

Verga Nell Walker, age 83 of Valley Grande passed away on Thursday October 21, 2010 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Kenny Hatcher and her nephew Rev. Glenn Walker officiating and burial following in the Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery in Maplesville.
Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her parents, Ronder and Vela Mae Jones, her brother, Carl Jones, brothers-in-law, Willie Walker, E.A. Walker,Jessie Walker, Wade Ousley and Earl Walker, her sisters-in-law, Leila Ousley, Jeanette Jones and Annie P. Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wylie Lee Walker of Valley Grande, nephews, Eddie (Loretta) Jones of Valley Grande, John Jones of Montgomery, James (Faye) Jones of Valley Grande, and a niece, Debra (Stan) Yates of Montgomery, numerous other nieces and nephews and her three sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Walker, Evelyn Aultman, and Lettie Walker.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Joseph Suddeth, Jerry Ousley, Jack Ousley, John Jones, and James Jones.
The family will receive friends on Saturday October 23, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
