Vermelle Bamberg

Vermelle Phillips Bamberg passed away November 9, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born August 30, 1929 to the late Albert Coleman Phillips, Sr. and Lola Mae Morgan Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years,Thomas Floyd Bamberg, Sr.; siblings, Albert Coleman Phillips, Jr., Robert "Bobby" Lee Phillips, Louise Spain, Grace Mixon and three siblings who died in infancy.

She is survived by her adoring children, Carolyn (Harold) Edwards, Thomas "Tommy" F. (Linda) Bamberg, Jr., Harriette (Alan) Jones and Margaret (Curtis) Sellars; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Estelle (Alfred) Averette, John David Phillips, James (Kathy) Phillips, Martha (Benjamin) Hicks and Nellie (Jack) Heinaminn and special friends and caregivers, Lillian Washington and Essie King.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 12:30 at Alabama National Cemetery with Tommy Bamberg officiating. The service will be live streamed, via the funeral home's Facebook page at http://watchlawrence.live  The family will receive friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Cary Edwards, Brian Edwards, Scott Bamberg, Danny Bamberg and great-grandsons, Dylan Bamberg and Sawyer Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Edwards, Alan Jones, Curtis Sellars, Dillon Peak, Ron Kelley and Harrison Smith.

The family will accept flowers or you may consider a memorial donation to a charity of your choice in her memory.
