Violet Dolores Hatfield

Violet Dolores Hatfield, of Selma, passed away on Monday July 22, 2013. She is survived by her children, Anthony Lewis and Lara Lewis Hatfield; brother, Larry (Peggy) Lewis; sisters, Faye Ivie and Charlene Atkinson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friends, Edward Cooper, David Day, Mason Harris, Ray and Bonnie Cook. Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hatfield, parents, Charles Henry and Hermie Lewis; 3 brothers, Dan, Ted, and Oliver Lewis; sister, Maxine Crowder. Mrs. Hatfield worked at the cigar factory for many years. She was a lifelong member of West Highland United Methodist Church. She was a big fan of Elvis Pressley. She loved to sing and yodel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Mason Harris and Mike Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
