Virginia Quay Burns Johnson passed away on May 12, 2019. She was born on March 29, 1935 in Drew, Mississippi.

Mrs. Johnson was a gracious and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She loved the Lord greatly and was also a faithful member of Selma Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Grady Burns and Pearl Burns; husband of 45 years, James Allen Johnson; daughter, Jamie Allison Moreland; grandson, Drew Starke; brothers, Dexter and Buddy Burns and sisters, Ann Herron, Edna Bolan, Jean Champion, Vera Goodman, and Arlene Mansfield.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Martin (David) of Selma; son, Gary Allen Johnson, of Selma; daughter Leslie (Mac) Miller of St. Simons Island, Georgia; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson (Jeremiah) Reed, of Valley Grande, Lee Willet, Olivia Thompson, and Mae-Adeline Miller, all of St. Simons Island, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Landon Bishop, Lindsay Bishop, Jamison Johnson, Jaxson Reed, Emily Reed, Hailey Reed, and Landon Reed; sister, Sue Bazzel of Decatur, and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Visitation will be Thursday May 16, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.Graveside services will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at New Live Oak Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Chappelle of Selma Church of God officiating.

Pallbearers will include Lee Willet, Landon Bishop, Jeremiah Reed, Austin Lightfoot, Bobby Martin, and Randy Willet.
