Virginia Rhodes

Virginia M. Rhodes, age 87, of Selma, AL, passed away May 11, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Rhodes, Jr.; parents, Herbert and Cora Eva McGinnis; brothers, Carl, Herbert, Bobby and Jimmy and sisters, Jewell, Barbara, Mary Ann and Juanita Frances. Surviving are her children, John O. Rhodes, III and Vicki D. Rhodes; grandchild, Justin M. Rhodes; brother, Larkey McGinnis; sister, Alice (Jim) Wright and sister-in-law, Miriam Coffee. Graveside services will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ed Byrom and Rev. Denny McLendon officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing, The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robby Redd, Mike Little, Jimmy Ellison, Justin Rhodes, Jack Robertson and Dick Boozer. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Homestead Hospice, 410 Church Street, Selma, AL, 36701 or Fairview Baptist Church, 1800 West Dallas Ave., Selma, AL, 36701. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sitters, Bessie, Martha and Josephine and to the staff of Homestead Hospice.
