Walter Simmons

Walter J. "Mike" Simmons, age 91, of Benton, AL, passed away March 5, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wives, Lena Furtado, Helen Nunes and Beulah Rhyne Carswell. He is survived by his children, Laura (David) Holman, Donald W. Simmons, David ( Bobbi) Pfau and Stephen (Laurie) Simmons; grandchildren, Sondra Siler, Niki (Jason) Lamb, David Pfau, Jr., William Simmons and Colton Simmons and great-grandchildren, Sasha, Trent, Preston, Tallton and Kyle. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Benton Methodist Church in Benton, AL with Rev. Lee Tate officiating. The family will have a private burial at a later date. Mr. Simmons served in three branches of the military and World War II. He was loved by all.
