William Robert "Bobby" Chandler of Deatsville, Alabama and formerly of Selma, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the age of 75.
He was born in Maplesville, Alabama on January 9, 1948 to the late Enzo Chandler and the late Leila Jones Gregg.
Bobby was a painter by trade. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during Vietnam. Bobby was a wonderful husband, father, PawPaw, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Kay Maughan Chandler; children, Cindy (George) Matthews, Joe Chandler, and Eric Chandler; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Dorminey, Casey Matthews, Caitlin (Coleman) Gilliand, Emily Matthews; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Ray Dorminey and one on the way; siblings, Sharon (Duke) Brady, Roger (Jennie) Chandler, and Wendy (Bubba) Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Doug Leverett; and brother, Sammie Enzo Chandler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. form the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Blake and Bro. Scott Gunter officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be George Matthews, Jr., Casey Matthews, Wesley Gunter, Josh Dorminey, Coleman Gilliand, Duke Brady, and Bubba Ross.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Vines, Jimmy Harris, Jerry Harris, and Donnie Jones.
Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Selma Funeral Home.
