Mr. William Alvin Fancher, Jr. was a native of Dallas County, Alabama and a resident of Foley, Alabama. He passed away on March 9, 2023 in Foley, Alabama surrounded by his family at the age of 78.
He served 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a maintenance man at Admiral Quarters in Orange Beach, Alabama. He loved his family and God's word. Mr. Fancher was a very generous man and would give anything to anyone. He also knew something about everything (even when he didn't).
Mr. Fancher was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Fancher. They were married April 1, 1969 in Bazil, Switzerland. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William Alvin Fancher, Sr., Emma Fancher; sisters, Sara Ann Greshem, Molly B. Fancher; brothers, W.C. Fancher, James Fancher.
He is survived by this children, Lynda D. Fancher (Marty) Roark of Loxley, Alabama, William E. (Betty Nyc)Fancher of Highwood, Illinois; brothers, Allen Fancher, Thomas Fancher, Charles (Shela) Fancher; sister, Carolyn (Mickey) Ware. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that adored their "Pop Pop", Whitneigh (Levi) Guenther, Shelby (Andrew) Lamb, Laina Fancher, Colton (Elizabeth) Roark, Kendra (Austin) Schaff, Jacob (Christina) Roark, Jenna Guenther, Hunter Guenther and Clifford Lamb and so many nieces, nephews that loved their "Uncle" and too many cousins to count.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Fancher Hill in Selma, Alabama at 11:30 a.m. with Military Honors.
Mr. Fancher would want us to celebrate his homegoing.
