I feel lucky to have known him, lucky to have practiced with him. His life time of service is worthy of deep respect. He is survived by his two daughters: Nancy Warren Hinson and Dorothy Hinson Dennis (spouse Jeff); his granddaughters Mary Claire Powell, Carrie Hinson Dennis and Catherine Taylor Johnston; and his son-law Joe P. Johnston III, all of Selma. Other survivors are his sisters-in-law: Margaret Anne Warren Terry of St. Louis; Dorothy Jane Warren Nisbet, Jacksonville; Donna Warren, Selma; and many cousins of the Heinz and Hinson generations. Predeceasing Dr. Hinson are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe C. Hinson; his wife Nancy Warren Hinson; and his daughter Catherine Hinson Johnston. Memorial gifts may be made to the Catherine Hinson Johnston Memorial Scholarship Fund; Wallace Community College Selma, P.O. Box 1571, Selma 36702-1571. The Hinson family wishes to express its deep gratitude for the devoted and conscientious care given Dr. Hinson by Dr. Samer Fahoum, Dr. Park Chittom II and Jan Stockman, R.N. and all nurses of the Fifth Floor Medical Intensive Care Unit.
