William Hinson

Funeral services for Dr. William Mayberry Hinson who died October 18 in Vaughan Regional Medical Center will be Friday October 23 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul���s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Joseph S. Knight will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul���s Columbarium, Lawrence-Brown Service directing. Visitation will be Thursday, October 22 from 6-8 p.m. in the Lower Hall of St. Paul���s, where his family will be pre-sent ���to greet his family of patients.��� Dr. Hinson practiced medicine in Selma for more than 50 years, often stating that ���the practice of medicine is a privilege and the greatest job in the world.��� The last years of his practice were with Dr. Park Chittom II, who said when learning of his death ���He was my friend and role model, always happy to give advice without judgment, always with a joke on the tip of his tongue and always full of life even during the hardest of times. I feel lucky to have known him, lucky to have practiced with him. His life time of service is worthy of deep respect.��� He is survived by his two daughters: Nancy Warren Hinson and Dorothy Hinson Dennis (spouse Jeff); his granddaughters Mary Claire Powell, Carrie Hinson Dennis and Catherine Taylor Johnston; and his son-law Joe P. Johnston III, all of Selma. Other survivors are his sisters-in-law: Margaret Anne Warren Terry of St. Louis; Dorothy Jane Warren Nisbet, Jacksonville; Donna Warren, Selma; and many cousins of the Heinz and Hinson generations. Predeceasing Dr. Hinson are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe C. Hinson; his wife Nancy Warren Hinson; and his daughter Catherine Hinson Johnston.
