William "Huett" Brunson of Browns, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma at the age of 81.
He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on July 31, 1941 to the late Willie Frank and Audrey McCann Brunson.
Huett worked on his father's dairy farm during his high school years milking cows at 2:30 in the morning and at 2:30 in the afternoon. His father bought him a car for his 16th birthday. When he asked his father what time he had to be home, his father said, "I don't care what time you get home but, you better be in that barn at 2:30". This led to Huett's work ethic of, ALWAYS ON TIME!
He was a deacon at Hopewell Baptist Church in Marion and Uniontown Baptist Church for 60 years.
Huett and his father planted the first soy beans in this area in 1960 which led to his love of row crop farming for the past 60 years. Huett also raised catfish for many years as well.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Brenda Vann Brunson; daughters, Barbara Buchanan and Amanda Tucker; granddaughter, Peyton Buchanan Guri (Mark); grandson, William "River" Buchanan; sister, Alice K. Perkins; niece, Elizabeth Perkins Brady; nephews, Ken Beatty. Keith Beatty, and William K. Perkins; and numerous cousins.
