William Gordon McLendon, age 53, died on August 27, 2014 in Selma, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Faye McLendon.
He is survived by his sister Gina McLendon Friday (Jack) of Montgomery, AL and step-mother Joyce McLendon of Prattville, AL. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed spending his time playing golf, hunting and fishing. After graduation of high school he worked and eventually ran the family business, Custom Pew Company in Orville until its closing.
His most recent business endeavor that he was so proud of was his involvement with the construction and opening of the restaurant, the Sand Bar at the City Marina.
Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation on Friday, August 29, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Per Gordon's request, there will not be a memorial service.
Honorary pallbearers are "Gordon's Golf Group" and members of Sanders Bar Hunting Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wannabe Rescued, P. O. Box 725 Selma, Alabama 36702.
