William ���Billy��� Reed, age 65, of Selma, died Monday August 8, 2011. Mr. Reed retired after 41 years from Flowers Baking Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Hubert Reed and Hazel Plummer Reed and his brother, James H. Reed, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Hughey Reed of Selma; daughters, Marsha Prescott (Jeff) of Jay, FL and Dawn Shaw (Jeff) of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Cody Prescott, Colter Prescott (Brooke), Reed Shaw, Anna Holt Shaw and Holley Shaw; great-grandchild, Price Prescott and his brothers, Johnny Reed (Patricia) of Selma and Barry Reed (Judy) of Selma.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m Thursday August 11, 2011 at Pisgah Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Arnold , Rev. Arthur Thomas, and Rev. Bill Wallace officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and burial following in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Bryan Reed, Blanton Reed, Dr. Jason Reed, Chris Reed, Kyle Hughey, Richard Hughey III, and Cary Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Pisgah Baptist Church and the Wednesday night mens group.
The family is accepting flowers but memorials may also be made to Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery fund, 13401 Hwy. 219 Selma, AL 36701 or your favorite charity.
